Kaepernick is the leader of the NFL's firestorm against the national anthem. The protest reached higher heights when President Trump got in on the action. Trump's comments led to more participation in the #TakeAKnee movement.
While the protests have continued to heat up, Kaepernick has continued to be active on social media with controversial statements. On Monday it was no different as he shared his hot take on Christopher Columbus.
Colin Kaepernick's Columbus Day message was a retweet of college professor Christopher Petrella of Bates College. The photo involves an image of Columbus discovering America and raising a Christian cross in the background. It is accompanied by a quote by author James Baldwin.
