Speaker Paul Ryan released his 1,665 page budget plan. Speaker Ryan defends it, despite the fact the budget plan excludes all Trump border wall funding.

Paul Ryan and the GOP leaders made sure to insert language that that prevents any and all funding for the Trump border wall.

Then on Tuesday Speaker Paul Ryan had the audacity to defend the awful budget plan he released. Here he is in the GOP press conference. Watch the video.

Speaker Ryan Defends Budget Plan

Since then President Trump has voiced his frustration. Trump was hoping the legislation would provide the funds to get the border wall started.

Speaker Ryan claims to share the frustration with President Trump.

“Look, we have a long ways to go between now and September, but I share the president’s frustration,” Speaker Ryan said while at a leadership press conference Tuesday. “I feel good about the wins we got with the administration in this bill.”

Speaker Ryan noted that while the budget bill prevents the border wall from being funded, it does increase the funds that can be allocated for border security as well as border defense. Additionally, it also increases funding for the opioid epidemic.

President Trump has taken it as far as calling for a government shutdown on Twitter.

“The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We….either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good ‘shutdown’ in September to fix mess!”

Just days ago a spending deal was reached by Congress which avoided a shutdown and funds the government through the end of September.

The deal includes $12.5 billion for new military spending, $100 million to deal with opioid addiction, $1.5 billion for border security and $295 million for Mexico Medicaid payments. Shockingly, it also funds Planned Parenthood. Despite all of this, it does not allocate any money toward the Trump border wall.
