At a Cheesecake Factory in Miami, Florida there was a black man attacked and threatened because he was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat. This happened on Mother's Day while the man was dining with his girlfriend.
22-year-old Eugenior Joseph was seated at the Cheesecake Factory with his girlfriend's family in Dadeland Mall with his MAGA hat when the incident went down.
The attack happened when Joseph was with his girlfriend's (left) family.
Multiple witnesses as well as Joseph reported that a female employee at the restaurant pointed out his hat and signaled for other employees to come over.
Per Daily Wire:
"Her finger was literally on top of his head, we were all looking at her like 'what is happening?'" one witness told The Daily Wire. "She was pointing at him, calling her other coworkers, telling them to look at this guy wearing a Make America Great Again hat."
At that point, approximately a dozen or so employees approached the table and began making comments about the hat, with some saying they wanted to punch Joseph in the face. Witnesses also allege that some of the employees also referred to him as a "n**ger" in their conversations among each other.
"So then all the employees started standing there, saying things out loud, like, 'I'm going to knock his head in so hard his hat's going to come off," the witness continued.
One of the employees gave Joseph intimidating looks, clenching his fists and making hand gestures that appeared to indicate that he was ready to engage in a fistfight.
"He got behind me and another coworker came by and they were staring at each other and he fist bumped him and then he started looking at me, balling his fists, smacking his fists, trying to scare me," Joseph told The Daily Wire.
Another witness told The Daily Wire that the group of employees looked like a lynch mob and they couldn't stand to see a black man wearing a hat that showed support for the president.
Employees at the restaurant continued to mock and intimidate Joseph after he got up to use the restroom.
Another witness confirmed that these things happened. Kitchen employees booed Joseph loudly as he walked past the kitchen.
It was even reported that the event was so traumatic that an elderly woman had to take medication so she could calm down.
The Cheesecake Factory was contacted about the incident. It took some time for a response, but eventually they issued an apology on Twitter:
No guest should ever feel unwelcomed in one of our restaurants and we are taking this matter very seriously. Upon learning of this incident, we immediately apologized to the guests in person. We are conducting an investigation and will take the appropriate corrective action.

The company needs to take more action in order to offset the bad press. An apology is just the beginning. This Twitter user had a very unique suggestion for The Cheesecake Factory:
This is the kind of thing that could ruin a company.

Also, when Joseph was contacted, he claimed he did not receive an apology and had not talked to anyone in person.
Per Daily Wire:
Joseph says that The Cheesecake Factory has not reached out to him and did not apologize to him in person after the alleged incident happened.
Shortly after this report was published, The Cheesecake Factory announced that "the individuals involved in the incident have been suspended pending the results of our investigation."
