According to Newsweek, many law enforcement sources said that Aaron Hernandez committed murder to hide the fact he was bisexual. The murder resulted in a life sentence with no parole. One of Hernandez's 3 suicide notes that he wrote in prison before hanging himself further advances the theory. One of the notes was sent to his gay lover in prison.

Even though Aaron Hernandez was a superstar tight end for the University of Florida Gators as well as the New England Patriots, he was never able to put his troubled past completely behind him. He was never able to move completely past the gang connections that haunted him his entire life. He was charged with murder of his friend Odin Lloyd in June of 2013 and convicted in April 2015. There has been much speculation as to why Hernandez murdered Lloyd. One of the predominant theories was that Lloyd had incriminating evidence against Hernandez's double murder case. In the end, Hernandez was charged with double murder but not convicted.

Aaron Hernandez of the New England Patriots

Aaron Hernandez, Odin Lloyd, Bisexual, Why did Aaron Hernandez kill Odin Lloyd?

According to "multiple law enforcement officials directly involved in the case," the incriminating evidence that Lloyd knew had nothing to do with the double murder. Instead it was directly related to Hernandez's sexuality.

[I]nterviews with multiple law enforcement officials directly involved in the case say Lloyd — a semipro football player who was dating Hernandez’s fiance’s sister at the time — had information the football star did not want out: that he was bisexual.

One of the notes left by Hernandez was to his prison boyfriend, who is now on 24/7 suicide watch, multiple law enforcement sources confirm. Hernandez’s sexuality would, of course, not be relevant save for the fact that an intimate relationship he allegedly had with a male former high school classmate was at the center of the investigation into Lloyd’s murder.

Somehow Lloyd found out about the secret love life of Hernandez and revealed that to him. A co-defendant in the Lloyd murder trial seems to back up the allegation.

Ernest Wallace, a co-defendant in the Lloyd murder case, told detectives the victim had called Hernandez a “schmoocher,” which was taken by Hernandez and his companions as a gay slur. Wallace was also recorded saying during a jailhouse visit with Tanya Singleton, Hernandez’s cousin, that he would not have helped Hernandez get rid of the murder weapon — a crime for which he is now serving a 4½-to-7 year sentence on accessory to murder charges — if he had known Hernandez was a “limp wrist,” multiple sources say.

Newsweek describes the man as Hernandez's "alleged longtime male lover" from high school. The man was interviewed by authorities after Lloyd was murdered. Just before being arrested, Hernandez moved large amounts of money to three different bank accounts: "one account was for his fiancée; a second was for his daughter; the third, where the most money was moved, was for that friend." Officials say that Hernandez similarly left three suicide notes this week, one to his fiancée, one to his daughter, and one to his alleged gay lover in prison, who is now on "24/7 suicide watch."

Even though it certainly appears that the alleged bisexuality of Hernandez played a role in the murder, it still appears that the reckless, crime-ridden lifestyle of Hernandez had him destined for a life that ends badly. Aaron Hernandez appeared destined for tragedy whether or not the motives for this murder had to do with his sexuality.
