Over 70 pounds of marijuana was discovered and seized by Indiana State Police during a routine traffic stop in Greenfield on Monday morning.

A 2017 Ford Expedition was pulled over by a trooper around 11 a.m. on I-70 near Greenfield. According to the trooper, the vehicle was pulled over for weaving outside of the traffic lanes.

Soon after pulling the vehicle over, the trooper discovered over 78 pounds of marijuana inside the SUV.

Per Fox59:

The vehicle was driven by 51-year-old Christian Elie of Elbert, Colorado and there was one passenger, 42-year-old Austin Johnson of Indianapolis. Both men were arrested and transported to the Hancock County Jail on preliminary drug charges.

This is an ongoing investigation, troopers will work with the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office to determine formal charges. The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be around $250,000.

So this guy was driving recklessly with 78 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. Talk about being careless.

Kudos to the cops for having a laugh at the expense of the criminal on Twitter. That is a serious amount of marijuana to seize on a routine traffic stop.
