Former ‘Cosby’ Actor Spotted Bagging Groceries, Media Attacks

Do you remember Elven from “The Cosby Show”? He was spotted bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s. Because of this someone felt the need to shame him. Meanwhile, Geoffrey Owens is teaching others what hard work means.

Many times character is revealed in a challenging situation. Many people play the victim and have a sense of entitlement. Geoffrey Owens did the opposite. He got to work and made ends meet. While looking for acting jobs he picked up a part-time job to pick up some extra cash.

Photos of Owens working at Trader Joe’s went viral over the weekend. The story was published by The Daily Mail. There were many people who were looking to embarrass him just because he picked up a regular job.

Per TMN:

Karma Lawrence spotted Owens working at Trader Joe’s and decided to expose him. She snapped some pictures of the “Cosby Show” actor and sold them to The Daily Mail. Not only did she take a swipe at Owens’ weight, but was also very derogatory about his job.

“It was a shock to see him working there and looking the way he did,” Lawrence said. “It made me feel really bad. I was like, “Wow, all those years of doing the show and you ended up as a cashier. Other fans would be surprised for sure as well.”

Quickly, people came to Owens’ defense. The fact that he was willing to work in this capacity to support his family reflects his strong character. He was not ashamed of his job at Trader Joe’s, but for some reason, that was what some in the media were attempting to do. There is no shame in working hard and honestly.

Owens stayed positive and took to social media to talk about his experience.
