Michael Cohen Caught Lying Under Oath, His Trump Breaking The Law Story Falls Apart

This isn’t the first time this has happened. Since Michael Cohen was caught lying under oath, his story about Trump breaking the law is now coming apart.

Earlier this week Cohen struck a plea deal. While this will help him reduce his legal punishment for committing a crime, he also implicated Trump in the crime for breaking a campaign finance law. This was when he referred to Trump paying hush money to a mistress. When Cohen was once very loyal to Trump he has now turned on him and has cited Trump’s father’s experience in the Holocaust in an attempt to cast more shade at President Trump.

Now Cohen’s credibility is about to take another hit. Just last month Cohen claimed that he would tell Robert Mueller about the infamous Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer. This meeting led many to believe there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

Yet when Cohen testified before Congress, he said that he did not have any idea whether or not Trump even knew about the meeting beforehand.

Per Axios:

Michael Cohen told lawmakers last year, in sworn testimony, that he didn’t know whether then-candidate Donald Trump had foreknowledge of the 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians, three sources with knowledge of Cohen’s testimony tell Axios.

The big picture: And Cohen still doesn’t know whether Trump knew about the infamous meeting, according to Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis. “Nothing has changed,” he told Axios. News reports last month said Cohen was willing to assert to special counsel Robert Mueller that Trump did know about the meeting in advance.

Lanny Davis, Cohen’s lawyer, even admitted this on CNN. Here is the conversation he had while on CNN:

So to simplify things, here’s how it all went down. Cohen told the media that Trump was aware of the Trump Tower meeting before it happened. This was a clear implication of Russian collusion. Now his lawyer is saying something totally different. His lawyer is not refuting this claim after his client testified under oath with a contradictory statement.

So which one is it, did he lie under oath or is he lying now?
