Department of Justice Asks Watchdog to Investigate Obama-Era Actions Against Trump Campaign

On Monday the Department of Justice announced they are having their internal watchdog to look into irregular actions taken by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate their actions with the Trump campaign during the era Obama was President of the United States.

Per Daily Wire:

“Based on the meeting with the President, the Department of Justice has asked the Inspector General to expand its current investigation to include any irregularities with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s or the Department of Justice’s tactics concerning the Trump Campaign,” the White House announced in a statement Monday.

“It was also agreed that White House Chief of Staff Kelly will immediately set up a meeting with the FBI, DOJ, and DNI together with Congressional Leaders to review highly classified and other information they have requested,” the statement continued.

The actions taken by the DOJ come after President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he was demanding action be taken to determine whether the DOJ and FBI improperly surveilled his campaign and whether any officials from the Obama administration were involved.

On Sunday President Trump came out firing, suggesting that he is going to officially demand that the FBI/DOJ be investigated for infiltrating or spying on the Trump campaign for political purposes.
