Not Good Enough! – Leftists Outraged Over Trump’s ‘Short’ Kwanzaa Tribute

The weeklong celebration of “Kwanzaa” started off on Tuesday. Much like every other day of the year, President Trump has leftists outraged as a result.

It has been widely reported that Kwanzaa is nothing more than a scam cooked up by a black nationalist sociopath who also happened to be convicted of violent crimes against women. Check out the report by Michael Knowles. This holiday should be nowhere near Christmas and Hannukah.

Despite this, there was still a statement released by President Trump to commemorate the day. Here is his official statement on Kwanzaa:

Today marks the first day of Kwanzaa, a weeklong celebration of African American heritage and culture. Together, let us celebrate during this joyous time the richness of the past and look with hope toward a brighter future.

As families and friends join to light the Kinara, Melania and I extend our warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a prosperous year to come.

With this statement you can at least say that Kwanzaa was mentioned. Well, as you may have guessed, it has leftists outraged. For instance, some said that he did not emphasize the African-American values that are celebrated with Kwanzaa.

Per Newsweek:

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration at the end of every year honoring African-American culture, and it includes a ritualistic lighting of a candle holder called a kinara.

In Obama’s statements about the holiday, he consistently emphasized the values that all Americans can find in culture celebrated on Kwanzaa.

“For families across the country, today marks the beginning of a joyous time to reflect on the rich African-American culture and to remember the principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith—principles that reflect our most cherished values as Americans,” Obama wrote in his 2016 Kwanzaa statement.

He struck a similar note in 2015, writing, “Kwanzaa’s seven principles—unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith—are also shared values that bind us as Americans. And in the spirit of the season, we reflect on the blessings of the past year and commit to building a brighter future for all our children.”

Obama used similar language spotlighting African-American values in his other presidential statements about Kwanzaa—and his comments caught Trump’s wrath years ago.

Splinter took an analytical approach to it. They did some math and figured out Trump’s Kwanzaa statement was the shortest one yet.

“For comparison, [Bill] Clinton’s first Kwanzaa statement was 143 words long—more than twice as long as Trump’s remarks,” they lamented. “President George W. Bush’s 2001 Kwanzaa statement was 172 words long. And in 2009, Barack Obama issued a statement with 196 words.”

Another day, another thing that has leftists outraged. The statement was short and appropriate for the magnitude of Kwanzaa.
