Odds are you have been heartbroken to see Chick-fil-A closed on a Sunday. You must respect their Christian values, though. On a Sunday Chick-fil-A came to the rescue and provided food for thousands of hungry and stranded travelers.
There was a chaotic blackout at the Atlanta Airport Sunday. Thousands of passengers had their flights cancelled and had no idea what to do.
At around 1:15 a.m. the Atlanta Airport tweeted about the Chick-fil-A workers handing out sandwiches and water to the desperate travelers.

The City of Atlanta tweeted to help people stay updated and let them know what Chick-fil-A will be providing food for shuttle service passengers.
The City of Atlanta has mobilized the Georgia International Convention Center and will provide shuttle services for anyone who needs a place to stay for the night. @ChickfilA will provide food for passengers.

The blackout was caused by an underground fire. It lasted all Sunday afternoon and well into the night. Hundreds of flights were cancelled as a result of this and many planes were stuck on the tarmac with passengers in them.
There were some entertaining tweets when people found out that Chick-fil-A was being served on a Sunday.
What if I don’t need a place to stay but want some of that @ChickfilA 🐣

This is exactly why @ChickfilA is my favorite fast food restaurant. Hands down.

Chick-fil-A closes on Sunday nationally on account of the Christian values of their founder Truett Cathy. These traditional values have came under fire during the past, such as when they were targeted for their opposition of same-sex marriage. The left tried to organize a boycott against Chick-fil-A but profits continued to soar in 2012.
Kudos to Chick-fil-A for stepping up in a time of need and helping the city of Atlanta as well as people traveling to and from the city.
