Despite Rape Allegations, Netflix Continues Working With Danny Masterson

Netflix did the right thing and cut ties with Kevin Spacey. Despite rape allegations by four women, Netflix continues working with Danny Masterson, star of their sitcom “The Ranch.”

The rapes occurred in the early 2000s, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There is strong evidence to support that they did happen. The Church of Scientology has ran interference and caused the investigation to stall.

The evidence includes audiotapes, emails sent to and from Scientology officers at the time the alleged rapes happened, forensic computer evidence and a threatening handwritten letter Masterson sent to one of the alleged victims, according to two people with knowledge of the evidence in the district attorney’s possession.

The allegations were detailed by Emily Zanotti. She also provided details on the  the meddling of Scientology when they resurfaced during the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

In one case from 2003, the victim told the LAPD that she passed out and awoke to find Masterson trying to have sex with her. When she resisted, she claims, Masterson choked her until she passed out again.

But even as the LAPD pursued her case, they met with opposition from the Church of Scientology which intervened in the investigation and sent the LAPD 50 separate, signed affidavits from women, also in the Church, who disputed the victim’s account and supported Masterson.

Eventually, sources told the Huffington Post, the woman’s case file simply vanished.

HuffPo claims that three of Masterson’s alleged victims, also Scientologists, reported the rapes to the Church, but apparently became frustrated with Church officials and took a risk, going outside Scientology to law enforcement — considered a major sin against the organization. Individuals who complain to outside authorities are labeled ‘suppressive’ and can be expelled or shunned from Scientology.

Despite all of the allegations Netflix is yet to fire Masterson. They issued this weak response to the issue: “We are aware of the allegations and the subsequent investigation, and will respond if developments occur.”

Ashton Kutcher, a major social justice warrior, has yet to denounce his buddy of 20 years going back to “That 70’s Show” nor has he called for him to be fired by Netflix.

Masterson’s accusers are in a fit of rage. Chrissie Carnell Bixler is one of the four accusers. She told the Daily Beast, “I was sick when I read Netflix’s statement on continuing with ‘The Ranch’ and continuing their working relationship with a man who has violently raped and abused so many women. I will NOT shut my mouth when Netflix tries to make us feel like we don’t matter. We DO matter. We ARE important.”
