More Empty NFL Stadiums

Early on in the season the NFL hitched their wagon to the NFL anthem protests. It seems they are trying to move on from the protests, but it seems like it is clearly too late. Today the Houston Texans took on the first place Los Angeles Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. By the looks of things no one cared. More empty NFL stadiums.

Per AP:

The Houston Texans defense is off to an impressive start against the high-powered Rams offense.

Jadeveon Clowney and his teammates limited Jared Goff and the Rams to 131 total yards in the first half at the Coliseum, keeping Los Angeles out of the end zone entirely. The Rams entered the game with the NFL’s highest-scoring offense at 32.9 points per game.

Greg Zuerlein hit three field goals for the Rams, who led 9-7 at halftime. Zuerlein has already surpassed his previous career-high for a season with 27 field goals in the first nine games for the Rams, who are mediocre in the red zone despite their prolific points totals.

Liz Habib of Fox Sports LA took some photos of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum being completely empty well into the first quarter.

More empty NFL stadiums

Check out the fired up 45 fans going nuts when the Rams come out of the tunnel.

There were other games with attendance issues. Even the historic rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers couldn’t pack the house. After several weeks of anthem protests the fans are clearly fed up.

This is so embarrassing. A key divisional game between two of the most proud NFL franchises and they are nowhere near filling the stadium.
