ESPN Downward Spiral Continues – Could Be Losing ‘Monday Night Football’

The ESPN downward spiral continues. The far left sports network could be losing “Monday Night Football” as it keeps getting worse and worse for the company.

On Monday morning The Hollywood Reporter gave several reasons why the sports network might be forced to abandon MNF.

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

First, quietly, ESPN has been able to pull off a dramatic judo move in recent agreements with its affiliates, one whose importance cannot be overstated: There is no longer specific contract language that requires the cable giant to have NFL games in order to earn its lofty (and industry-envied) subscriber fees, currently more than $7 per household. This means the network would not face automatic decreases in that vital artery of its dual revenue stream. Sure, distributors would be aghast, demanding to negotiate lower fees probably immediately, but the point is, there would be negotiations, enabling ESPN to do everything it could to keep those numbers as high as possible.

THR also mentioned a sharpe decline in ratings since 2015 along with a high price tag that exceeds $15 billion as reasons ESPN might cut bait with Monday Night Football.

ESPN Downward Spiral Continues

How great is it to watch this network collapse? Remember when they pulled Bob Lee from a broadcast based on him sharing a name with the confederate general? More layoffs on the way and to make matters worse they may not keep “Monday Night Football.” Who could have imagined something like this happening just ten years ago? At that point it was almost unbelievable to think something like this could possibly happen. Well, ESPN hitched their wagon to the far left and started pushing their liberal views on everyone. And guess what? People didn’t approve.

While it is unlikely the network every completely shuts down, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. It can be said with certainty that the glory days of ESPN are long gone.

Losing “Monday Night Football” would be a serious blow to the company.
