Houston Texans Quarterback Gives First NFL Paycheck to Hurricane Victims Who Work At Team Facility – VIDEO

Rookie Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has done some amazing things in his football career especially for being such a young age. He capped off his college career by leading the Clemson Tigers to the national championship last season. Despite leaving Clemson after his junior year, Watson graduated from Clemson with a degree in communications after just three years. All this guy does is win. Well, he’s not done winning. The Houston Texans quarterback gives his first NFL game check to hurricane victims who work in the team’s stadium’s cafeteria.

Watson’s base salary is $465,000. His check he donated was $27,353.

When he heard about Watson’s actions, Texans head coach Bill O’Brien called him a “first-class guy.”

“A lot of the people who work so hard for us behind the scenes, especially the people in the cafeteria, I mean, they’re here at 4:30 in the morning,” O’Brien said. “And some of those people in Harvey, they lost everything. A number of our players donated money to help them, and he gave his game check, which is incredible.”

Let’s not forget that Deshaun Watson is not the only giving Houston Texan. Perhaps he was inspired by the awesome work of teammate J.J. Watt. The Texans superstar helped raise over $37 million for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

It wasn’t just about money. Watt went to the areas that were devastated by the area and helped get supplies to those who need them most.

Kudos to the Houston Texans and their incredible amounts of philanthropy.
