Sunday Night NFL Ratings Plummet – Lowest of the Season

Last Friday President Trump ripped into NFL players for not standing for the anthem. In response over 200 NFL players and staff knelt during the anthem. Well, NFL fans have responded as the Sunday night NFL ratings plummet and hit a season low.

Many fans took a vow to never watch NFL again. They took to Facebook and showed themselves burning their gear for the teams they’ve supported for years. Here’s one example.

The kneeling stunt has NFL ratings down up to 10% this week.

Per Deadline:

On a day full of criticisms from Donald Trump, political protests, linked arms, players taking a knee or not coming on the field during the National Anthem and renewed pleas for unity from the league NBC and the NFL took a hit last night on Sunday Night Football.

In metered market numbers, the primetime match-up between the 27-10 winning Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders snared an 11.6/20.

The worst SNF has performed this season so far, that’s an 8% dip from the early numbers of last week’s Atlanta Falcon’s 34-23 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Not long ago the NFL was seen as an unstoppable cash cow. They are testing this position by continuously challenging the belief and values of their fans.
