Mailman Delivers Marijuana On His Route, Gets Busted

This is not your average mailman. This Chicago Mailman delivers marijuana while on his route and is now facing big-time consequences. When questioned, mail carrier Christopher Baxter admitted to having “a pound of weed.”

Postal service inspectors were doing routing surveillance on Baxter when they saw him make a series of hand-to-hand marijuana delivers while on his route. After seeing this, the inspectors alerted the Chicago Police. The police were able to find marijuana, plastic bags, a digital scale and a heat sealer inside of his postal bag.

With regards to the issue, the United States Postal Service released a statement.

“The vast majority of U.S. Postal Service personnel are dedicated, hard-working public servants dedicated to moving mail to its proper destination who would never consider engaging in any form of criminal behavior. This type of alleged behavior within the Postal Service is not tolerated and when a postal employee betrays that trust of the American people, the special agents of the U.S. Postal Service, Office of Inspector General vigorously investigate these matters as we did in this instance and work with local, state and federal prosecutors to hold accountable those employees who violate that public trust.”
