Netanyahu Praises Trump’s Strong Leadership, Dumps on Obama

Netanyahu is one global leader who is very happy with Trump. Recently, Netanyahu praises Trump’s strong leadership. On Friday, Netanyahu praised President Trump’s “very strong” words and “forthright deeds” when it comes to the actions he took regarding Syria’s tyrannical government.

The Prime Minster’s remarks came while he was having a press conference with Secretary of Defense James Mattis. While making his remarks, Netanyahu made it very clear that he is extremely pleased to see Obama’s old policies, as well as most his legacy, tossed into the garbage can.

Per The Daily Wire:

“We sense a great change in the direction of American policy,” said Netanyahu, the Washington Examiner reports.

“We noted the very clear and forthright words, Mr. Secretary, that you had to say about Iran,” he said. “This follows very strong and forthright words on the part of President Trump, and very forthright deeds against the use of chemical weapons by Iran’s proxy, Syria.”

This “welcome change” in policy and strategy, he said, is “appreciated around the world and in our region.”

Netanyahu proved to be a thorn in the side of President Obama, with whom he repeatedly butted heads, particularly leading up to the infamous Iran nuclear deal, to which the Israeli government was adamantly opposed. Netanyahu really ramped up his increasingly open opposition to the Obama administration when he addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress in March 2015 to slam the “very bad deal.”

That same year, a political NGO connected to Obama’s 2008 campaign attempted to oust Netanyahu in the Israeli election using U.S. taxpayer money.

The Trump administration has made clear in the last few weeks that the days of the Obama administration’s feckless “lead from behind” foreign policy are over. In just a matter of days, Trump ordered a strategic airstrike against a Syrian military base in response to yet another use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime and dropped the “Mother of All Bombs” on ISIS in Afghanistan, killing over 100 ISIS militants.

It’s nice to see President Trump is gaining the respect of the same leaders that laughed at President Obama. Netanyahu pointed out that not only does he appreciate the “welcome change” but also it is appreciated around the world an in our region.

It is interesting how he calls the Obama administrations approach “lead from behind” and made it very clear that President Trump will not be doing the same in the future. Then he specifically points to the “Mother of All Bombs” strike on ISIS in Afghanistan, which killed over 100 ISIS militants.
