The Governor of Texas Greg Abbott, along with the Lone Star State lawmakers are stepping up and making some major adjustments following the recent attacks on police officers.

Introducing the Police Protection Plan. This strengthens the penalty for crimes committed against police officers.

“At a time when law enforcement officers increasingly come under assault simply because of the job they hold, Texas must send a resolute message that the state will stand by the men and women who serve and protect our communities,” Abbott said.

Abbott pointed out that Texas will continue to mourn for the lost heroes, but it is time for Texans to pull together and move forward stronger.
