Dennis Rodman ‘Just Trying to Open a Door’ with North Korea – VIDEO

Former NBA Star Dennis Rodman is in the unique spot of being friends with Kim Jong Un and President Trump. Rodman claims he is “just trying to open a door” with North Korea.

This is not Rodman’s first meeting with the North Korean leader. He has made previous trips to Pyongyang and refers to Kim Jong Un as “an awesome kid.”

This trip to North Korea is sponosored by PotCoin, which is a cybercurrency for legalized marijuana. While on the plane he was wearing a black t-shirt advertising PotCoin and he was also sure to thank them in a series of tweets.

Dennis Rodman headed back to North Korea

Rodman spoke with reporters before leaving. He said Trump would support his mission as it is a means to “accomplish something we both need.”

Remember, Rodman was a cast member on two different seasons of Celebrity Apprentice, which featured President Donald Trump.

This visit to North Korea comes at an awkward time as tensions have risen with regards to Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile tests. They have also vowed to develop a nuclear-tipped missile which would be able to hit the United States mainland.

Additional to that there are four Americans being held captive in North Korea. When asked about that Rodman said, “That’s not my purpose right now.”

Rodman’s most recent visit to North Korea was in 2014. There are not many Westerners who have been able to meet Kim. After his 2014 visit he defended himself on CNN, claiming his travels would help “open the door” with North Korea and even called Kim his “friend for life.”

In the same interview, Rodman took plenty of heat when he blamed Kenneth Bae for being jailed in North Korea. Bae was an American-Korean missionary who was jailed in North Korea. After intense pressure, Dennis Rodman apologized for his remarks.

There was even a basketball game to celebrate Kim’s birthday during the 2014 trip. Rodman led a team of retired American basketball players.

Rodman’s team lost but he was still a good sport. He took part in singing happy birthday to the North Korean leader.
